Wirral Borough Council's Community Safety Service seeks to commission a suitably qualified and experienced provider to deliver a Restorative Justice (RJ) and Mediation Service across the Borough of Wirral.
The Council require a high-quality, victim-focused Restorative Justice and Mediation Service that supports the resolution of conflict, repairs harm, improves community relationships and contributes to the reduction of anti-social behaviour and community tensions.
The successful provider will be expected to deliver services in accordance with current Restorative Justice Council (RJC) standards and guidance and adopt a trauma-informed, restorative and person-centred approach throughout service delivery. RJC Practice Guidance 2020
As a minimum, the successful provider must be able to:
• Manage referrals from multiple referral pathways.
• Deliver a safe, impartial and effective restorative justice and mediation service.
• Demonstrate adherence to Restorative Justice Council Best Practice Guidance.
• Deliver interventions that are tailored to the needs and circumstances of participants.
• Undertake robust assessments, safeguarding procedures and risk management processes.
• Facilitate a range of restorative interventions, including direct and indirect restorative processes.
• Support the resolution of anti-social behaviour, neighbour disputes and community conflict.
• Deliver community-based restorative approaches and community problem-solving interventions.
• Work collaboratively with Wirral Borough Council, Merseyside Police and partner agencies.
• Monitor service performance and demonstrate positive outcomes for participants and communities.
The successful provider must ensure the service is fully operational and prepared to receive referrals from the commencement date of the contract.
